Hi everyone! As a great way to kick off the new year my church is doing a 21 day fast for prayer. The idea is to fast or remove something from your life and in its place spend time in prayer. This is an annual thing my church does so I look forward to it every year. Last year I fasted TV which didn't work for me. Instead of spending my extra time praying, I found other activities to do, like facebook, twitter, etc. This year my group of friends and I have challenged ourselves to go the entire 21 days without eating. In place of eating we'll spend the time reading the bible and praying together or on our own. Im SO excited to see what God has instore for me this month. In place of food I'm drinking a lemon cayenne drink that will keep me from getting super hungry and tired ;) I'll be updating how the fast is going every few days as well!
So I'm already on day 4 of fasting and its going great! I love spending all the extra time I have from not eating reading the bible and doing things I normally wouldn't have the time to. The lemonade drink I've been having doesn't tastes too bad and it definitely gives me the energy I need to finish the day. Last night I was at a birthday party for my friend's one year old son, they had so many cupcakes there and it was so hard to not give up and eat one! But I made it through the first day, no food eaten! YAY!
